BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — Ridge to Rivers says winter trail conditions continue, and all trails are snow-covered in a Jan. 12 trail condition report.
Trails in the lower Foothills receive more use, so they will have a higher chance of causing a slip. Ridge to Rivers recommends traction on your shoes or studded/fat tires on those trails.
As you ascend higher into the Foothills, you will find deeper snow and fewer tracks. There will be less need for traction but possibly more need for snowshoes or even XC skis.
With more snow on the way and cold temperatures ahead, these conditions should last into next week.
