Influencer Aliana Mawla is turning up the heat with her recent social media posts. The model, who was once linked to Lliam Payne, shared sultry images of herself posing in a sauna, wearing a metallic brown bikini and her hair loose around her shoulders. "I'm not hot, I'm a sauna," she captioned the post, to resounding appreciation from her fans. "Too hot!" one admirer commented. Mawla's Instagram followers are rising by the day, keeping the model busy with her social media. Here's how she does it.
Mawla enjoys fresh green juice made from fruit and vegetables. "In general, think about making juice with a blender instead of with a juicing machine," says Katherine Zeratsky, R.D., L.D. "Blending the parts of fruits and vegetables that can be eaten produces a drink with more healthy plant chemicals and fiber. If you try juicing, make only as much juice as you can drink at once. Harmful bacteria can grow quickly in freshly made juice. If you buy commercial fresh juice, choose a pasteurized product."
Mawla loves protein-packed chicken salad with broccoli. "The leaves and stems of broccoli are very nutritious, but the florets have an even higher concentration of nutrients and phytochemicals," says Dianne Lamb, Nutrition & Food Specialist with the University of Vermont Extension. "Raw broccoli has more vitamin C than cooked, but cooked broccoli makes the carotenoids more available to the body. So enjoy broccoli cooked or raw— just be sure to eat it often."
Mawla isn't one to cut out carbs—she loves pasta dishes, which can be enjoyed as part of a healthy diet. "In the context of an otherwise healthy diet, people have been shown to lose more weight when their diet includes pasta regularly," says Emma Beckett, Senior Lecturer (Food Science and Human Nutrition), School of Environmental and Life Sciences, University of Newcastle. "And, a systematic review of ten different studies found pasta was better for post-meal blood glucose levels than bread or potatoes. Instead of quitting spaghetti, consider reducing portion sizes, or switching to wholegrain pasta, which has a higher fiber content which has benefits for gut health and can help you feel fuller longer."
Mawla loves spending time at the beach (it certainly gives her an excuse to wear all those swimsuits!). "Studies show that the magnesium in seawater may improve the barrier function of the skin, so it becomes less dry and rough," says Dr Anton Alexandroff of the British Association of Dermatologists. "We also know that UVB light can improve symptoms of some skin conditions and it might be that we increase our exposure to daylight when we're enjoying time at the coast."
Mawla loves swimming, which is a low-impact way to get aerobic exercise. "Aerobic exercise keeps your muscles strong, which can help you maintain mobility as you get older," say the experts at the Mayo Clinic. "Exercise can also lower the risk of falls and injuries from falls in older adults. And it can improve your quality of life. Aerobic exercise also keeps your mind sharp. Regular physical activity may help protect memory, reasoning, judgment and thinking skills (cognitive function) in older adults."
